2700 kms, 25 people, 5 startups in 1 bus - Startup Bus Europe

Last week I had an opportunity to be a part of official bloggers team at LeWeb conference, organized by well known Loic Le Meur and his wife Geraldine. During three days conference, which will be probably wraped up in a separate blog post, lots of great ideas could be seen, but none of them took my attention more than Startup Bus did. Hence, I was free enough too look for one of the organizers of this initiative - Arne Hulstein, and interview him. Hope you'll enjoy it!

Interview with Gary Vaynerchuck @ Ideja X Zagreb

Not many times in your life you have the opportunity to talk with someone who can be considered as your idol. If I met Michael Jordan when I was 13 or 14 i would probably wrap around him and stay like that till the end of childhood, but in that time it was not so real, or at least I thought so. But as time passed by and my professional interest became more clear, this wish became more and more possible, and it finally happened at Ideja X conference in Zagreb. Yup guys, I had opportunity to spend some quality time with the greatest @garyvee!

Probably the first question that everyone wants to know about Gary is - is this guy really doing all that stuff by himself. I mean tweeting, vcasting, chatting, presenting and all those work related words finished by -ing. But second after you meet him and have no doubt that the answer can be only positive. After 10 minutes interview I was amazed by one fact that is maybe not so obvious and not so interesting for being written. Yes he knows a lot. Yes he started with 4 million dollar business. Yes his industry is being more easily monetized than some others but... people forget the fact how normal he is. In a world full of business A MUST bullshits, he remained to be regular guy from the neighbourhood you can talk and have fun with. While "businessmen" think it's just a mockery he's rocking the world with this attitude making armies of brand advocates and thus changing the way marketeers work and think. Thumbs up for that!

Part I

Part II

In the end, I would like to thank Gary for his time, and awesome Netokracija crew for helping me do this. Great opportunity and probably one of the biggest motivation boosts I've ever had!

Spot a hipster, save the world!

You hate hipsters and their not so unique ways to be different and so cool? You find them utterly annoying and only your decision not to be loved in jails keeps you from not killing all of them. Great! I believe Spot a hipster is an app made just for you!

Spot-a-hipster
Ok, here is the thing. Most of the days we have to go outside in the real world, even if that is not the most likeable thing we do. Going to work, shopping or even coffees with friends when mess in our apartment is not so creative but lethal. We made that real world a bit more interesting place by using location based services such as Foursquare, Gowalla and what not. At the same time we successfully optimized our outdoor time by tracking traffic jams, avoiding "crash friendly" places and using shortcuts only our cities' masterminds know. World is such an awesome place when you have a smartphone. And then you suddenly spot a hipster and shitload of hate that needs to disappear by arguing on YouTube is born. Sounds familiar? Of course it does, there are billions of us (probably less then 7 billion though).

Then, why in the hell we don't make app for tracking them and live happily ever after? It should work in the same way car crashes are being tracked (Check this service out), only instead of avoiding crashes we would avoid hipsters and everything so much annoying about them. Notification options such as - Dude, you are entering hipster friendly area, are you serious you wanna proceed are definitely a plus.

Hipsters

Hipster free life has never been closer, and you thought location services were just another overhyped bullshit :)

PS. If you find this idea attractive, feel free to develop it further, I will be happy to have you as a friend because there's no doubt you'll be millionaire one day :)
